Delete your Staira account
Staira is operated by Wales Creatives Ltd. Deleting your account is permanent and cannot be undone. This page explains how to request deletion, what is removed, and what we are required to keep.
⚠️ Note: If you have authored books with active purchases, those books will be unpublished but existing buyers will retain access. Earnings already processed will not be affected. Withdraw any available balance before deleting your account.
How to delete your account

Via staira.app
Sign in, go to Settings, and use Delete Account in the Danger Zone. You'll confirm with your password (or an emailed code if you signed in with Google).

Via the mobile app
Go to Profile → Settings → Delete Account and follow the confirmation steps.

Via email request
Send an email from your registered address to [email protected] with the subject line "Delete my account". We will process your request within 5 business days.
What is deleted
- Your account, login credentials, and email address
- Your profile, including name, username, date of birth, profile photo, and banner
- Your posts, comments, replies, and reviews
- Your reading data, including highlights, bookmarks, and reading progress
- Your saved bank details
- Your uploaded books are unpublished and removed from the marketplace
This data is removed within 30 days of your request.
What we keep, and for how long
- Transaction records, including purchase and payout history and payment references, are retained for up to 7 years where required by financial, accounting, and tax law. These records are held in a form that is no longer linked to your public profile.
- Books you purchased from other authors remain recorded against the seller's sales history, without your identifying details.
- Records needed to resolve an open dispute, chargeback, or legal claim are kept until that matter is closed.
